One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 30,000 trees in the Hāmākua Restoration Area
The purpose of this project is to facilitate and accelerate forest recovery that will effectively mitigate threats of wildfire and alien weeds to secure suitable recovery habitat for endangered birds, the endangered Hawaiian Hoary Bat, and dozens of plants and invertebrates listed as candidates or species of concern.

One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 300,000 trees in Lassen County
This project will restore and replant over 1,200 acres of California forest that was burned in the Sheep Fire in Lassen County. Bringing a range of social and environmental benefits to the local area and community as well as California as a whole, this project will help reduce post fire erosion, enhance water quality and quantity, as well as improve wildlife habitat.

One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 134,800 trees in the Beachie Creek & Lionshead Wildfire Perimeter
The North Santiam Watershed is the drinking water source for 8 communities including Salem, the second largest city in Oregon. The September 2020 wildfires devastated this area, impacting 40% of the watershed basin. Replanting will help stabilize the soils preventing future stream and river sedimentation. It will also give the community a sense of hope - seeing the burned landscapes recover and not become large plots of invasive scotch broom and blackberry.

One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 80,000 trees
Planting this area in California will help ensure higher survival rates in a notoriously difficult area to plant due to dry conditions and brush. This will speed along forest recovery in an area that has been completely devastated by wildfire, which has led to large patches of complete forest mortality. This fire scar is up against a previous fire scar, leaving much of the local landscape without seed sources capable of producing natural regeneration and recovery.

One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 150,000 trees in the Chignecto Isthmus
The Chignecto Isthmus connects mainland New Brunswick to Nova Scotia, which is hugely important for the native habitat, and has been identified as a priority conservation area. Unfortunately, forests in this area have become fragmented. By planting native Acadian trees, we will be able to promote wildlife connectivity, water retention and carbon storage, among other benefits for years to come.

One Tree Planted’s Goal: Planting 218,358 trees in San Bernardino National Forest
The Cranston Fire in 2018 burned over 13,000 acres within the National Forest. Due to forest cover loss, the burnt areas have a high risk of flash floods and erosion, creating hazardous conditions within the landscape. By planting trees in the affected areas, we are working to re-establish forest cover, increase biodiversity, improve watershed health, and prevent catastrophic erosion events.
